When I feel even a slight switch of the seasons, I can’t help but overhaul my closet for the next season. This year, I’m trying to show restraint by browsing transitional clothing items instead of sweating in fall and winter pieces, so I’m starting with shoes. I rounded up 10 footwear styles that I can wear from now through the temperature drop, including finds from New Balance, Birkenstock, Ugg, and more, starting at $26.

Shupua Pointed-Toe Ballet Flat
Orig. $31$26 at Amazon
Flats are truly a seasonless shoe, IMO. They’re comfortable, can be worn for any occasion, and are flexible enough to toss in a bag when your heels pinch in all the wrong places. Shupua’s Pointed-Toe Bow Ballet Flats are my go-to pick, and they’re available in eight colors and prints. The design features a bow-topped pointed toe and a breathable stretchy mesh fabric. A plush insole offers maximum comfort, plus the ribbed edge keeps the shoe from digging into your foot.
New Balance 1906R Sneaker
Growing up, I picked out a new pair of sneakers for school every August. My go-to sneakers for the last nine years has New Balance, aka the brand coveted by supermodels because it effortlessly balances comfort and style and, these 1906R sneakers by the brand are on my fall wish list. They feature a neutral cream base with pops of pastel accents. The insole provides arch support, shock absorption, and added cushioning for maximum comfort with every step, while the outsole provides grippy traction.
Birkenstock Boston Soft Footbed Clog
If there’s one shoe brand that’s mastered the summer-to-fall transitional shoe, it’s Birkenstock. While I’m not opposed to wearing my Arizona Big Buckle Slide Sandals with a pair of socks once temperatures drop—despite how polarizing that is—the Boston Soft Footbed Clog was made for the fall.
The slip-on clogs come in five colors. The outer soft suede fabric is a great fall fabric, while an adjustable buckle strap allows for a more snug and secure fit. The insoles are made from soft cork that molds to your feet over time, and the sole has a ridged tread for better traction on wet and uneven surfaces.
